Please Note: We do not train medical alert service dogs.

The K9 Care Montana (K9CM) Service Dog Program was created to provide enhanced mobility and renewed independence to Police Officers, Firefighters and Emergency Medical Personnel who have been injured on the job and have received debilitating injuries, allowing them to once again live with pride and self-reliance. K9CM specializes in placing highly trained and skilled service dogs AT NO COST to first responders with visible and invisible disabilities, such as PTSD, TBI and loss of mobility.

A highly trained service dog will help mitigate a disabled first responder to perform daily tasks, assist the recipient to achieve a higher quality of life, safety and independence. The service dog can assist the recipient in reducing medical and psychiatric costs, suicidal thoughts, social anxiety, flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, the risk of violence, alcoholism, drug use and depression and severe mental breakdowns.

With the help of a service dog (SD) a disabled First Responder will regain feelings of being safe as well as trusting someone is watching their back. The service dog will provide feelings of unconditional love, and allows the recipient to care for him/her self and their families.
